When I went to The Orchid, I did not want to get sober. I was very obnoxious, but regardless of my attitude, they still loved me and managed to help me stay there despite myself. I’ve never been to a treatment center like The Orchid; being around only females really made a difference in my journey – it helped me focus on me.

Women have become increasingly likely to become addicted to the same types of drugs as men have. While in previous decades they may have been more prone to addiction to prescription drugs that were almost synonymous with being a housewife, the modern era is one that sees women as likely to be addicted to drugs such as heroine and cocaine as men are. However, while the drugs that women are dependent on may be identical to those that men become dependent on, the reasons for becoming dependent and the most effective methods of becoming dependency free are quite different.
Addiction is a disease and it’s one that the team at Orchid Recovery Center are fully equipped to deal with. In many respects, the substance you become addicted to is almost irrelevant, except for the side effects of that addiction. What really matters is the cause of the addiction; the underlying psychological or emotional problems that led a patient to become addicted in the first place. By helping to identify and combat this often deep set problem, the Orchid Recovery Center has proven especially successful at leading women with addiction towards a clean life.
The Orchid Recovery Center doesn’t concentrate on a single aspect of rehabilitation either. An initial assessment considers the health and psychological impact that rehabilitation is likely to have on a patient. Following this, a personalized plan that includes any relevant styles of rehabilitation and treatment will be drawn up for each patient. This may include holistic sessions as well as twelve step programs designed to help the patient beat addiction physically, mentally, and emotionally and it will also include relational group treatments that have proven especially beneficial and effective for female patients.
